Magnesium content (%) in calcium ammonium nitrate fertilizer as mentioned in F.C.O., 1985 is —

2.5% 2.5% 3.5% 3.5% 4.5% 4.5% 5.5% 5.5%

Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN), popular as 'Kisan Khad', is a neutral fertilizer produced by granulating ammonium nitrate with limestone or dolomite.
Under Schedule I of the Fertilizer (Control) Order (FCO), 1985, standard specifications for CAN require:
Total nitrogen minimum 25.0%
Ammoniacal nitrogen minimum 12.0%
Nitrate nitrogen minimum 12.0%
Magnesium content (as Mg) not less than 4.5% by weight.
Magnesium incorporated from dolomite reduces fire hazard, stabilizes storage, and supplies a key secondary nutrient.
Thus, the magnesium content in CAN is 4.5% (Option 3).
