- It causes severe economic damage to Green gram (moong, Vigna radiata), chickpea, cowpea, and pigeonpea, where the developing grubs feed inside the cotyledons, leaving hollowed seeds with round exit holes.
- Sitophilus oryzae attacks stored rice and wheat; Lasioderma serricorne attacks coriander.
