(Agro-Industrial Attachment)

MCQ (Single Correct)

According to Ensminger (1962),

which of the following statement is not correct in reference to ‘Philosophy of Extension’?

Extension is a commercial process. Extension is working in harmony with the culture of the people. Extension is helping people to help themselves. Extension is a two way channel.

Statement 1 is NOT correct: Douglas Ensminger (1962), who spearheaded community development and extension in India, explicitly stated that 'Extension is an educational process', NOT a commercial, regulatory, or coercive process.
Statement 2 is correct: Ensminger emphasized that extension must respect, understand, and work in complete harmony with the established culture, values, and traditions of rural people.
Statement 3 is correct: The fundamental philosophy of extension is 'helping people to help themselves' (self-reliance and empowerment).
Statement 4 is correct: Extension is fundamentally a continuous two-way channel, carrying scientific solutions from research labs to farmers' fields and conveying grassroots field problems back to scientists.

(Helping people to help themselves)

MCQ (Single Correct)

Who are the members of Gram Sabha of a Gram Panchayat?

Only male members of the village All residents of the village Only those persons registered in the electoral rolls

Under Article 243(b) of the Constitution of India (73rd Constitutional Amendment Act, 1992) and the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994, 'Gram Sabha' is legally defined as a body consisting of all persons registered in the electoral rolls relating to a village comprised within the area of the Panchayat.
Therefore, not all residents (e.g., minors below 18 years or unregistered inhabitants) are members of the Gram Sabha; membership is strictly confined to registered adult voters.
The Gram Sabha is the grassroots bedrock of direct democracy in the Panchayati Raj system, reviewing village development plans, budgets, and beneficiary identification.
Hence, only persons registered in the electoral rolls are members.

MCQ (Single Correct)

Which of the following program was merged into “Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana”?

Training of Rural Youth for Self Employment (TRYSEM)

Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) was launched on April 1, 1999, as a holistic self-employment scheme by merging six previously existing targeted rural programs:
Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP)
Training of Rural Youth for Self-Employment (TRYSEM, launched 1979)
Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA, launched 1982)
Supply of Improved Toolkits to Rural Artisans (SITRA, 1992)
Ganga Kalyan Yojana (GKY, 1997)
6. Million Wells Scheme (MWS, 1988).
Jawahar Rojgar Yojana (JRY, wage employment) was restructured into Jawahar Gram Samridhi Yojana (JGSY), later merging into SGRY.
SGSY was later restructured into the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM / Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana) in 2011.
Hence, TRYSEM was merged into SGSY.

Q.119

RPSC Assistant Agriculture Officer 2021

MCQ (Single Correct)

Which of the following sequence of Teaching - Learning Process in Extension is correct?

Wilson and Gallup (1955) identified six logical, sequential steps involved in the extension teaching-learning process, universally remembered by the acronym AIDCAS:
Attention (attracting the farmer's notice to a new practice)
I - Interest (generating curiosity and seeking more information)
Desire (creating a strong urge to adopt the practice)
Conviction (building strong belief and confidence in benefits)
Action (actual trial and field implementation by the learner)
6. S - Satisfaction (feeling of success and reinforcement from results).
Skipping any step or reversing the sequence impairs effective behavioral change.
Hence, the exact correct sequence is Attention -> Interest -> Desire -> Conviction -> Action -> Satisfaction.

I - Interest (रुचि: तकनीक के प्रति जिज्ञासा और रुचि उत्पन्न करना)
