1979-80 1979-80 1989-90 1989-90 1994-95 1994-95 1997-98 1997-98

The Integrated Wasteland Development Programme (IWDP) was officially launched by the Government of India during 1989–90 under the National Wasteland Development Board (Ministry of Environment and Forests, later transferred to Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development in 1992).
The scheme aimed at developing non-forest wastelands on a micro-watershed basis through people's participation, soil and water conservation, afforestation, and pasture development.
In 2009–10, IWDP along with DPAP and DDP was integrated into the Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP), now component of PMKSY (WDC).
Thus, IWDP had been under implementation since 1989–90 (Option 2).
