Both compartments contain complete sets of both the oxidative phase (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase) and non-oxidative phase enzymes (transketolase, transaldolase).
Mitochondria and peroxisomes do not house the HMP shunt enzymes.
