Consumer indifference analysis:

• An Indifference curve (or indifference schedule) is the locus of various combinations of two goods that provide an equal level of total satisfaction or utility to the consumer.
• Because every bundle on the curve yields identical satisfaction, the consumer remains indifferent among them.
• An iso-quant represents combinations of inputs producing equal physical output.

Classification of goods based on income elasticity of demand ($\eta_i$):

• Luxury goods: Income elasticity is strictly greater than one ($\eta_i \gt 1$), meaning expenditure on the good increases more than proportionately as income rises.
• Necessities: Income elasticity is between zero and one ($0 \lt \eta_i \lt 1$).
• Inferior goods: Income elasticity is negative ($\eta_i \lt 0$).
• Therefore, for a luxury commodity, $\eta_i \gt 1$.

In economic theory, Capital is formally defined as 'man-made or produced means of production'. Unlike land (which is a primary, non-reproducible gift of nature) and labor (human physical and mental effort), capital consists of all wealth and assets produced by previous human effort specifically set aside to assist in further production (e.g., machinery, tools, farm buildings, improved irrigation infrastructure). Furthermore, capital is a stock variable measured at a point in time, and it encompasses both physical and human/intellectual capital.
