Cellular sites of cellular respiration in plants:

• Cytoplasm (C): The initial stage, Glycolysis (EMP pathway), occurs entirely in the cytosol / cytoplasm, where glucose is cleaved into pyruvate.
• Mitochondria (B): Pyruvate is transported into the mitochondrial matrix where the Krebs Cycle (TCA cycle) operates, followed by the Electron Transport Chain (ETC) and Oxidative Phosphorylation localized on the inner mitochondrial membrane (cristae).
  Chloroplasts and Grana (A and D) are sites of photosynthesis, NOT cellular respiration.
