MCQ (Single Correct) +1 −0.33

The air is considered as dry when the vapour pressure deficit is -

MCQ (Single Correct) +1 −0.33

A wet spell is defined as -

Continuous more than two days with rainfall of > 2.0 mm per day Continuous more than five days with rainfall of > 2.0 mm per day Continuous more than two days with rainfall of > 2.5 mm per day Continuous more than five days with rainfall of > 2.5 mm per day

By India Meteorological Department (IMD) standards, a rainy day receives >= 2.5 mm of rain, and a wet spell is defined as a consecutive period of more than two rainy days (> 2.5 mm per day).

Continuous more than two days with rainfall of > 2.0 mm per day: Uses 2.0 mm threshold rather than the standard 2.5 mm criterion.
Continuous more than five days with rainfall of > 2.0 mm per day: Incorrect days and threshold.
Continuous more than two days with rainfall of > 2.5 mm per day: Standard meteorological definition of a wet spell based on the 2.5 mm rainy day threshold.
Continuous more than five days with rainfall of > 2.5 mm per day: Represents an extended/persistent wet spell, not the baseline definition.

Hence, the correct option is (C).

MCQ (Single Correct) +1 −0.33

The heavy rain occurs when the precipitation intensity is -

MCQ (Single Correct) +1 −0.33

Weather element that is not correctly matched with its measuring unit -

Temperature is measured in degrees Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F) using maximum and minimum thermometers.
Relative humidity is expressed in percentage (%) and measured using dry and wet bulb psychrometers.
Cloud cover (cloudiness) is measured in oktas (eighths of the sky dome) or tenths, not in hours. Hours is the measuring unit for sunshine duration recorded by the Campbell-Stokes sunshine recorder.
Atmospheric pressure is measured in millibars (mb) or hectopascals (hPa) using mercury or aneroid barometers.

Hence, Cloud cover - Hours is incorrectly matched (Option 3).

MCQ (Single Correct) +1 −0.33

Greenhouse effect is related to -

Rise in temperature तापमान में वृद्धि Rise in rainfall वर्षा में वृद्धि Rise in precipitation वर्षण में वृद्धि Rainfall delay वर्षा में देरी

The greenhouse effect is the natural process where radiatively active atmospheric gases (principally $CO_2$, $CH_4$, $N_2O$, and water vapor) absorb outgoing long-wave terrestrial infrared radiation.
This trapped thermal energy is re-radiated in all directions, warming the troposphere and raising the mean surface temperature of the Earth.
Enhanced greenhouse effect caused by anthropogenic emissions leads directly to global warming, i.e., a persistent rise in mean global temperature.
While precipitation patterns may become erratic as a secondary consequence, the primary and direct physical phenomenon is the rise in temperature.

Hence, greenhouse effect is related to Rise in temperature (Option 1).
