EXPLANATION
Olericulture (Vegetable Crops)
- 'Arka Nutan' is a high-yielding, cylindrical bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria) variety developed and released by ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru.
- It produces straight, uniform, light-green fruits with tender flesh and good cooking quality, yielding about 45 to 50 tonnes per hectare.
- Other well-known bottle gourd varieties from IIHR include Arka Bahar and Arka Shreyas.
- Therefore, Arka Nutan is a variety of Bottle gourd (Option 1).
