Molya disease of wheat and barley is caused by the cereal cyst nematode, Heterodera avenae.
First identified in India from Neem-ka-Thana (Sikar, Rajasthan) by Vasudeva in 1958, it is widespread in sandy and light soils across Rajasthan and Haryana.
Infected seedlings are stunted and yellow in patches, displaying extensively bunched roots with small white cysts visible around flowering.
Therefore, molya disease is caused by Heterodera avenae (Option 2).

गेहूँ एवं जौ का 'मोल्या' (Molya) रोग धान्य पुटी सूत्रकृमि 'हेटेरोडेरा एवेनी' (Heterodera avenae) द्वारा होता है।
भारत में इस रोग की खोज सर्वप्रथम 1958 में राजस्थान के सीकर जिले (नीम का थाना) में हुई थी। यह राजस्थान के बलुई क्षेत्रों में गंभीर समस्या है।
ग्रसित पौधे खेतों में टुकड़ियों (पैच) में पीले और बौने रह जाते हैं तथा जड़ों में अत्यधिक गुच्छे बन जाते हैं जिन पर सफेद रंग की सिस्ट दिखाई देती हैं।
अतः मोल्या रोग 'हेटेरोडेरा एवेनी' सूत्रकृमि द्वारा होता है (विकल्प 2)।
