In India, the National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning (NBSS&LUP) conducts reconnaissance soil surveys at a regional and state level on a standard scale of 1:250,000.
This scale provides broad resource inventory maps suitable for state-wide agricultural planning, regional watershed prioritization, and macro-level land capability classification.
Detailed soil surveys for farm planning and research stations are carried out at much larger scales (e.g., 1:4,000 to 1:10,000).
Hence, option 4 is the correct answer.
