Q.34

RPSC Agriculture Dept. Exam 2024 (Paper 1 - General Knowledge)

MCQ (Single Correct)

How many MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) were allocated to Rajasthan by the Union Ministry of Power under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) in June 2025?

3500 3500 2500 2500 3000 3000 4000 4000

To facilitate renewable energy grid integration, the Ministry of Power launched the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Rajasthan, having the nation's largest installed solar capacity, was allocated a substantial capacity of 4,000 MWh under this central scheme.
This storage infrastructure stabilizes grid frequency and prevents renewable curtailment during peak generation.
Hence, option 4 is the correct answer.
