For semiconductors, the charge carrier density $n$ increases exponentially with temperature $T$ according to:
$$n(T) = n_0 e^{-E_g / (2 k_B T)}$$Since electrical resistivity $\rho = \frac{m}{n e^2 \tau}$, as temperature increases, the increase in carrier concentration $n$ heavily dominates over the decrease in relaxation time $\tau$.
Consequently, the resistivity of a semiconductor decreases exponentially with an increase in temperature:
Graph 3 shows this characteristic non-linear, exponential decrease of resistivity with increasing temperature.
