Weed habitat preferences:
Chenopodium album (Common Lambsquarters / Bathua) is an obligate rabi (winter) season broadleaf weed adapted to upland, well-aerated, cool-weather crops like wheat, mustard, and potato. It cannot tolerate flooded, anaerobic soil conditions and is never found in kharif lowland rice fields.
Echinochloa crus-galli / Echinochloa colona (barnyard grass) is the predominant grassy weed of lowland rice.
Cyperus iria (rice flat sedge) is a major sedge of wet rice.
Eleusine indica (goosegrass) is common in upland and direct-seeded rice.
