Vernalization is the induction of the flowering process of the plant by exposure to a prolonged cold; these processes are :
वसंतीकरण (Vernalization) पौधे को लंबे समय तक ठंड के संपर्क में लाकर पुष्पन प्रक्रिया का प्रेरण है; यह प्रक्रिया होती है :
- Vernalization is strictly an aerobic process. It requires metabolically active cells with sufficient oxygen supply and respiratory substrates (carbohydrates) to synthesize vernalin / promote epigenetic flowering competence.
- Under anaerobic conditions (absence of $O_2$), chilling temperatures fail to induce vernalization.
- वसंतीकरण (Vernalization) अनिवार्य रूप से एक वायवीय (Aerobic) प्रक्रिया है। इसके लिए पर्याप्त ऑक्सीजन और श्वसन ऊर्जा की आवश्यकता होती है।
- ऑक्सीजन की अनुपस्थिति (अवायवीय दशा) में ठंड उपचार देने पर भी पुष्पन का प्रेरण नहीं होता है।
