Detailed Analysis of Weed Biocontrol Agents:

• Teleonemia scrupulosa (Option 1): The Lantana lace bug (Tingidae: Hemiptera). It feeds on the leaves and flowers of Lantana camara, causing severe chlorosis and desiccation, and is widely introduced and established across tropical regions including India for its biological control. Hence, Option 1 is correct.
• Dactylopius coccus / D. ceylonicus (Option 2): Cochineal insects used for the biological control of prickly pear cactus (Opuntia spp.).
• Cassytha filiformis (Option 3): A parasitic vine, not an applied biocontrol insect.
• Aceria malherbae (Option 4): Gall mite used for controlling field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis).
